Royksopp – Only This Moment

This was the very first song I heard by Royksopp and it got me hooked to this amazing band. Just wanted to post this because I wanted to share the amazing lyrics that is poetically played in this melancholic song.

[OK]

Only this (moment)
Holds us to(gether)
Close to per(fection)
Nothing is (out there)
No one to (guide us)
Lost in the (senses)
Deep down inside I know our love will die
[OK]

Only this (moment)
Holds us to(gether)
Lost in con(fusion)
Feelings are (out there)
Scared of the (ocean)
Doubting in(tentions)
Deep down inside I know our love will die
[OK]

Stay or forever go
Play or you’ll never know
We haven’t decided
You can’t deny it’s all you’ve been waiting for
[OK]

Stay or forever go
Play or you’ll never know
Your spirit’s divided
You will decide if I’m all you’ve been waiting for

Clouds in my head
Have been parted with grace
By the voice of an angel
Revealing her face
And her words they make sense and I do understand
Falling in love isn’t part of a plan
Forces within me, mix reason with lust
But I try to accept it and not make it worse
Because I know I might lose you by taking the chance
But love without pain isn’t really romance
[OK]

Only this (moment)
Holds us to(gether)
Close to per(fection)
Nothing is (out there)
Always be(side her)
Trusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive

Only this (moment)
Holds us to(gether)
Close to per(fection)
Nothing is (out there)
Always be(side her)
Tusting my (senses)
Deep down inside I know love will survive
[OK]

Remix Artist Collective (RAC)

I found their remixes while searching for some music by an artist named ‘A-bee’. As I was scrolling through his blog to see what other musical treasures he hand posted, I came upon an album titled, ‘Stereogum presents RAC vol. 1.’ The author of the blog seemed to like their songs so I decided to download it to check it out. At first, it really didn’t hit me as interesting or grabbed my attention in any demanding way and so I left it by the wayside. However, today, I accidentally rediscovered the albums full potential by putting my iTunes to shuffle and cranking up the volume. When one of the songs on the album came up, it caught me by surprise because I couldn’t believe how spunky it sounded and the added beats really made you want to get up and dance! The bass was much more pronounced now with the increased volume and boy was it a helluva a beat. I did some more research and discovered that it was founded by a Portuguese remixer named Andre Anjos. He then recruited two more remix artists: Andrew Maury and Crookram. However, most of the songs released are remixes done by Andre Anjos. The RAC’s style of remixing is a detachment of the mainstream of popular techno/electro/trance remixes of rock/indie/alt songs. Instead of almost completely restructuring the original song and splicing bits and pieces of the original song into that remix, RAC contends to build from the original song, and enhancing it through simple loops that complement rather than recreate the original song. So, without further ado, an example of RAC’s remixed songs. Download site

underground hip-hop

Man, is this Music March Madness or what?! That was a lot of m’s. Anyways, here’s another musical feature. Introducing Strange Fruit Project and The Procussions feat. SFP. To me, this is the only type of hip-hop I can relate to because I’m not filthy rich who can afford a mansion, Bentleys, gold teeth caps, nor do I have the need to bang as many girls as possible to show the other guy how pimp I am because, truthfully, I can’t really get any, and lastly, I’ve never been shot or involved gang related violence. So yeah, basically, this music applies to the regular people who just want to listen to some good ol’ music with substance. Excuse me for my unusual ramblings, my posts usually do not contain any character so I decided to spice this one up. Enjoy!

Just for laughs:

Tough week, let’s relax with some chill tunes!

Hi all, so this week has been unbelievably stressful for me for I’ve been studying for three exams. Just finished two yesterday and now all I have left is the evil Biochemistry midterm this Friday…ewwww. As I like to say, ‘no rest for the procrastinators.’ But to liven-up my spirits, I like to listen to relaxing jazzy type music, for instance, Love Theme from Spartacus recreated by Quasar!! Here’s the Download link. Note: enter code, wait for counter to reach zero, click ‘regular download’, two windows will pop up–spam and download, exit the spam and save the file. If someone knows a better file-hosting site that’s free, please let me know, and also, if the aforementioned method doesn’t work, let me know, also. ENJOY!

Remioromen – konayuki piano music sheet

So today I wanted to listen to some past favorites and got around to listening Remioromen – Konayuki, the theme song to 1 liter of Tears –a Japanese drama about a girl who is a afflicted by spinocerebellar dystrophy or in laymen terms, the degeneration of her central nervous system. It’s based on a true story and I recommend it if you’re into watching sad dramas, lots of crying will ensue. Anyways, so after listening to it I realized that I’ve been trying to look for the piano solo of this song, so I decided to try my luck again because the last time, I searched and searched and couldn’t find the music sheets BUT this time, SUCCESS!! Yay. So, to end the misery of those who are looking for this beautiful piece, I give you……..a link. Click: Konayuki music sheet TADA! And ENJOY!

And this is what it sounds like (not me playing):

Elizaveta

An American-born, Russian raised singer who speaks English, Russian, Italian, and French named Elizaveta has totally caught my attention with her sultry voice. Her music incorporates a variety of styles such as classical, jazz, with an added touch of modernity. Is that what we call New Age? I don’t know, New Age makes me think of  Yanni type music, very sweeping and melodic. Elizaveta’s style feels more down to Earth, accented and quaint. But what I can’t get enough of is her voice. It has a unique tone and ever-so-slight courseness that gives you an eargasm everytime you hear it, lol, maybe I’m getting too far ahead of myself. Visit her site to listen to some of her songs: Elizaveta

Nujabes

Pronounced [New-Jah-Bess], this amazing DJ out of Japan, not quite sure of his exact hometown so i’ll just be general and say he’s from the Great land of the rising sun–my sincerest apologies. So I promised to do a feature, ahem, more like a video feature of one of his works. Most of you who’ve heard of Nujabes probably discovered his timeless talent from watching Samurai Champloo–a fricken sick samurai anime might I add. His slick, simple beats hits you in a renewing and fresh way, like a rainstorm clearing out a city’s stagnant musk that’s been accumulating for months–pardon my lame analogy, it’s all i could think up of at the moment. But it does lead into my next point, which is listening to his songs during a rainy day is the most soothing thing you could ever do on a rainy day, lol. So please give it a listen, and enjoy!
